The Monsoon Forest offers excellent accommodations, cuisine,
ambience and natural history services at the Bandhavgarh National
Park in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Bandhavgarh is among
the prettiest of all the national parks of Central India,
the thickly forested region of the Vindhya and Satpura Hills
that comprises some of India's best tiger reserves and inspired
Kipling's Jungle Book.
Bandhavgarh is widely rated as one of the best wildlife reserves
in India for tiger sightings and few tourists return without seeing
one over a three or four day stay at the Monsoon Forest.
This national park hosts thriving populations of other mammals
like sloth bear, leopard, chital or spotted deer, sambar,
muntjac or barking deer, nilgai antelope, chinkara or Indian gazelle,
the world's only four-horned antelope wild boar, gaur or Indian bison,
langur, rhesus macaque, dhole or Indian wild dog, Indian fox,
Indian wolf, ratel or honey badger, civet, lesser cats, etc.
Bandhavgarh is a delightful national park for birders with over 242
species recorded. It has been declared an Important Bird Area because
of the presence of critically endangered and near threatened birds.
Bandhavgarh is also historically interesting and has an imposing fort
and historic temples. This national park makes an excellent combination
with many architectural gems like Khajuraho and Orchha. It can also be
combined with other excellent national parks like Kanha, Pench, Panna
or Satpura. |
